Treasurers Report: Current balance - $3,623.09

• Finance Report no August changes, September -Organizational Dues received for NEIA3A

Sustainability

• Tammy Turner -Iowa Waste Exchange/INRCOG former- chair of the Backyard Tour Event looking for new chair with possible AmeriCorps members and can still serve in a support role.
• Christine C. suggested reaching out to RRTC at UNI for interested students

Health & Wellness

• Encouragement to get a Covid booster for those eligible and people 65+
• Ignite the Cancer Conversation - Beyond Pink Team - Keynote and Panel Discussion Oct. 19th 5:30-8:30 pm

Fresh Produce Availability

• Veggie Voucher Program
• Savannah - AmeriCorp Vista Member current project looking at food stores and surveying the quality of nutrition options- similar to the NEMS study with adaptations and validation with BHCo Health - end goal to share with community organization and create a healthier retail store incentive program, offer more drinking fountains and other ways to improve nutrition.

• Health Champion Photos up on Facebook
• August -currently posted
• September - Hartman Reserve - Summer Programs health and nature for youth and adults
• August Newsletter had a open rate 35/155
• Meeting Notices open rate were up 27.9%
• Links to events were a challenge to open in the newsletter
• Cowboy card update: will work on final draft soon

Unfinished Business

• Bios and Headshots needed - a few people have turned theirs in, but more are still missing. Example will be sent to board members to complete, also any photo can be used, does not have to be a professional headshot
• Work is needed to make guidelines for the Health Champions Award so nominations can be easier and broader- mentioned again but no input to move forward on this.

• ISU/Extension - master gardener class training in progress, adding a winter class, planning garden symposium
• Iowa Waste Exchange/INRCOG- monthly newsletter with updated materials excess and needs that companies and organization can use before going to landfill
